Safety & Health Week May 6-11th, 2024
Safety and Health Week is a national campaign that occurs annually during the first week of May and aims to focus the attention of employers, employees, partners, and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home, and in the community.
The goal is to improve attitudes towards safety, increase understanding of occupational safety and health, foster a safety-minded culture with increased cooperation, assist in team building, and enhance communication between employees and employers, safety committees, and safety professionals.
One of the most important aspects of Safety and Health Week is NOTICING. This year, Service Hospitality has exciting plans from May 6th to May 11th to recognize and support Safety and Health Week in our members’ industries.
This year, we will highlight Occupational Health and Safety Committees and the Top Contraventions most commonly found in the community service and hospitality industries. During the week, we will release information on contraventions and highlight Occupational Health and Safety Committees with a contest! Follow us on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)!
