Did you know April is Stress Awareness Month? Stress is a common response faced by many young people. Though stress isn’t a mental health problem, feeling stressed out for a long time can negatively impact our health and well-being and lead to burnout. Safety in Schools, a non-profit safety organization, offers online, curriculum-aligned, and industry-recognized workplace safety courses to Saskatchewan high school students.



Course Description:

Mental health affects everything in a person’s life, including relationships, success in school, and even physical health. Anxiety, stress and change are normal parts of life that everyone faces, but how individuals deal with them can greatly impact their mental health.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand and define mental healthmental illness, and anxiety.

  • Describe some of the common causes and symptoms of anxiety.

  • Analyze and establish effective strategies for dealing with stress, anxiety and change and for helping others manage stress, anxiety and change.

  • Understand the benefits of helping themselves and others manage stress, anxiety, and change; and,

  • Understand when and how to seek support for their mental health.
